Support Your Research
One of our main goals here at the Bankier Library is to enable you to successfully do your research. Consider this guide a basic outline of some of the tools and resources necessary to help you think critically about and properly evaluate the information you will encounter during your time at Brookdale and elsewhere.
This guide is designed to help you find, evaluate, use, and cite information related to your course assignments. It is also for those who wish to extend their personal knowledge of this topical area.
You will find resources on
Biology and Biology-related topics through the online catalog, from
periodicals databases and indexes, and through sites on the Web. Each of the tabs in this
guide will offer sources and ideas to help guide your research.
Choose one of the main tabs, such as "Finding Background
Information" or "Finding Articles" to begin; you may also choose
a subtopic under one of the main tabs, such as "Primary vs Secondary Information Sources" or "Keyword Searching
Tools". Additionally, I will be providing a page geared towards those students in Biology 101 that will cover much of the material I present in the Information Literacy Lab for that course.
Best of luck with your research!
